Welcome to the National Museum of World War II Aviation's Virtual Commemorative Wall.  We have created this unique opportunity to remember the unselfish service of our World War II era veterans and celebrate the contributions of the hundreds of thousands of people who made victory in World War II possible.

This virtual Commemorative Wall is dedicated to them.  Our goal is to honor these people and help reconnect families and friends of the millions of Americans and allied partners at the homefront who supported and thus played a pivotal role in winning World War II through their extraordinary efforts.  These people include the pilots, air and ground crews, Link trainers, WASP’s, Rosie the Riveter’s, women in the workforce, the engineers, scientists and mathematicians, machinists and mechanics, factory workers and truck drivers, the strategists – and every person across the homefront who sacrificed, rationed, and grew their victory garden – the list is endless.  These are the Homefront Heroes of the World War II era.

We want to inspire today’s generation with the stories of teamwork, scientific and technological innovation, sacrifice in the upending of comfortable and traditional domesticity, the surge in productivity when no one thought such an amazing effort was possible, and the recognition when events were greater than the individual and the individual response was drawn from deep within so many people.

We want to show the incredible accomplishments achieved by the entrepreneurial spirit, bringing honor to it in the past and encourage the same spirit now and in the future.  The World War II era was a time when people found, often unexpectedly, a quality of leadership within themselves - in courage, intelligence, energy, and commitment. The War brought out many things in people but it often brought out the best.  It was an amazing time of amazing people with amazing stories.  We hope you will add your own special information and history about your World War II hero!

By joining as a new member, you will be able to post information about yourself, a family member, or friend who proudly served their community and country.  You will contribute a chapter to the powerful story of how American society and its allied partners came together as never before to design, build, test and deploy the most massive airpower war machine the world has ever seen. These are compelling stories that should be shared, and need to be told.  It is these people who proudly and determinedly set the course for freedom and along the way created innovations in science, mathematics, engineering, design and countless other areas of study that influence our lives today and give us our legacy.
